Robben injury a blow

The 24-year-old was on the receiving end of a reckless challenge from Recreativo Huelva's Quique Alvarez during Real's 3-2 win on Saturday and had to be substituted soon afterwards.

The injury-prone Dutchman has already missed around half the season with various muscle injuries and is likely to be absent for his team's next five Primera Liga matches, as well as the crucial Champions League last-16 second-leg tie with Roma on Wednesday.

Real striker Gonzalo Higuain hopes his team-mate makes a quick return to action.

"It's a shame. I didn't see the tackle because I was warming up on the touchline," the Argentina international told www.realmadrid.com.

"We have to give him all our support and help so that he can make a speedy recovery."

Alvarez was sent off for the wild tackle and has since expressed his repentance.

"It was a serious error," he told Spanish newspaper Marca on Monday. "I was wrong and I feel terrible although I never had any malicious intentions."
